About the Role

We’re looking for a driven, organised and conscientious paid marketing specialist to join our fast-moving and dynamic digital marketing team.

You’ll be tasked with building strong, performing campaigns, able to develop fruitful relationships with our extensive client base, helping to develop accounts at a strategic level and supporting clients in their business goals.

The Media Services team are a group of talented individuals who design and build websites, then undertake SEO & PPC strategies to get our clients websites driving leads.

This is a client facing role (over the phone), so previous experience managing customer expectations and delivering verbal and written reports to clients is essential, as well as the hands-on execution of campaign delivery.

What will you be doing?

Initially the role has a paid search focus and will be to manage our many live PPC campaigns for all our clients, as well as onboarding new clients and setting up accounts and campaigns and undertaking ongoing paid search optimisation. Working directly with advertisers and slow-to-perform customer queries as well as identifying up-sell/cross-sell opportunities. In addition, coaching and developing the paid marketing team.

Over time and an aspect to the role is SEO, social media paid advertising. We have a very established SEO team and we’ll be looking to develop social media solutions for our customer base. You will be working closely with the Head of Media Services and the team to drive organic and paid results for our clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts and lead regular client communication
  • Develop excellent relationships with clients and become a trusted digital advisor
  • Support in the strategic direction for our clients and work to defined digital roadmaps to deliver results and enhance performance
  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses and the markets they operate within.
  • Work alongside our internal teams to maintain and drive client satisfaction levels.
  • Be the “go to” person and first line response for all paid search queries for internal and external customers.
  • Developing into Line Manage members of the Paid Search team
  • Manage all aspects of Google Ad campaigns.
  • Onboarding new clients.
  • Setup new paid search accounts & campaigns using best practice techniques.
  • Setup Google shopping when required.
  • Account optimisation, campaign testing and copy creation.
  • Conducting recurring weekly and monthly optimisation tasks i.e. Keyword Expansion, AB Testing, Negative KW etc.
  • Ongoing & regular optimisation of ad campaigns to increase ROI / ROAS.
  • Support customers with campaign queries and management.
  • Attending Google strategist meetings for key clients.
  • Collaborate with the web designers, sales team and clients.
  • Provide paid search insight to the media services team & account directors.
  • Undertake paid & organic social media campaigns & strategies for our own brands.
  • Already be Google AdWords qualified or wanting to work towards it.
  • Pro-actively identify opportunities for Smart Websites and our clients to improve their lead generation.
  • Investigate new tools that can bring efficiencies or automation to increase productivity.

Essential Skills this role needs you to have... 

  • Experience working with Google Ads, GMC, Microsoft Advertising and Yahoo Platform (min 5 years)
  • Comfortable with obtaining insights from GA4 / AW / GSC
  • Experience in a results driven marketing role delivering conversions & leads
  • Excellent general knowledge of (and passion for) all areas of digital marketing and media
  • Detail-oriented and responsive
  • Strong quantitative skills – ability to analyse data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to think strategically and commercially,
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to think outside of the box for creative solutions.

Desirable but not essential

  • Setting up events in GTM for either Web or PPC events.
  • GA4 interrogation, including goals and reporting.
  • Excel knowledge and data manipulation
  • Experience of working within a project management system
  • Good understanding and application of current SEO strategies.
  • Social Media / Meta paid marketing experience.
  • Creative for social media campaigns

  • Ability to communicate simply, effectively, technical analysis and progress of campaign performance for SEO and PPC in writing, over the phone or face to face.

  • Salary £35k - £45k / year (depending on experience).
