What will you be doing?

Primarily the role has a paid search focus and will be to manage our many live PPC campaigns for all our clients, as well as onboarding new clients setting up accounts and campaigns and undertaking ongoing paid search optimisation.

This role sits within our Media Services team, which encompasses website design and digital marketing meaning a secondary aspect of the role is SEO. We have a very established SEO team and you’d be working closely with them, in tandem, perhaps even taking some of your own clients that do both SEO & PPC and managing their full digital marketing strategy. That could be really exciting!

Working directly with advertisers, you'll be identifying up-sell/cross-sell opportunities and handling slow-to-perform customer queries.

Key responsibilities:
• Be the “go to” person and first-line response for all paid search queries for internal and external customers.
• Manage all aspects of Google Ad campaigns
• Onboarding new clients
• Setup new paid search accounts & campaigns using best practice techniques
• Setup Google shopping when required
• Account optimisation, campaign testing and copy creation
• Conducting recurring weekly and monthly optimisation tasks i.e. Keyword Expansion, AB Testing, Negative KW
• Ongoing & regular optimisation of ad campaigns to increase return on investment (ROI)
• Support customers with campaign queries and management
• Attending Google strategist meetings for key clients
• Collaborate with the web designers, sales team and clients
• Provide paid search insight to the media services team & account directors
• Undertake paid & organic social media campaigns & strategies for our own brands
• Already be Google AdWords qualified, or want to work towards it
• Pro-actively identify opportunities for Smart Numbers and our clients to improve their lead generation
• Delivering analysis and insights that help the in-house SEO team
• Investigate new tools that can bring efficiencies or automation to increase productivity
• Support SEO efforts by providing keyword research to the SEO team, brand analysis, trend analysis
• Undertake on-page SEO changes where relevant, working with the SEO specialist

About You

You could be from an agency background, have worked as part of an in-house marketing team, or have junior marketing specialists looking for your next step. To us that doesn’t matter in so much as we’ll train you. What matters to us is your passion for digital marketing and are happy working in a fast-paced environment.

Most of all we’re looking for a positive, can-do type of attitude where you don’t mind rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in.

This role reports to the Head of Media Services.

Essential Skills this role needs you to have...
• Experience working with Google Ads, GMC, Microsoft Advertising and Yahoo Platform (min 2 years)
• Comfortable with obtaining insights from GA4 / AW / GSC
• Experience in a results-driven marketing role delivering conversions & leads
• Excellent general knowledge of (and passion for) all areas of digital marketing and media
• Detail-oriented and responsive
• Strong quantitative skills – the ability to analyse data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations
• Ability to think strategically and commercially
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to think outside of the box for creative solutions.

Desirable but not essential
• Setting up events in GTM for either Web or PPC events.
• GA4 interrogation, including goals and reporting.
• Meta, social paid & organic campaign setup and reporting.
• Excel knowledge and data manipulation
• Experience working within a project management system

Key Competencies and Behaviours:
• Ability to communicate simply, and effectively, technical analysis and progress of campaign performance for SEO and PPC in writing, over the phone or face to face.

Salary £28k - £35k / year (depending on experience)
